Diner and Jam Party was a Great Success!

First of all I so want to thank all who came - friends and musicians alike. It was simply a great gathering of even greater people. I was even surprised that the music simply woahed my head, it was spinning fantastic. I will put up photos in a bit, but I am back to getting this art studio finally organized.

Today's Dinner and Jam Party Menu

So I am off like a prom dress this morning in getting some last minute ingredients for my party this evening. I decided to make this one menu very simple and not go too crazy which I have done in the past. My money was very tight this particular week, so here goes anything and everything:


  • Leah's Famous Fresh and Sexy Spicy Salsa
  • Nachos with homemade chili, fresh jalapeños and homemade guacamole
  • Lasagna with fresh ricotta, fresh mozzarella, homemade meat sauce with sausage
  • Penne Pasta with Sausage and broccoli served cold
  • Salad with razz berry vinaigrette, homemade croûtons from homemade bread
  • Homemade Brownies with mint chips
  • Red Wine Sangria with fresh farmer's market fruit
  • Homemade Fruit Soda Punch
I just hope I will have enough food - if not, we can always order some pizza. Not necessarily is this one of my best menus, but being on a strict budget, I had to do what I had to do. But I am known for the items being all homemade...so I got to make this blog posting brief - off I go to do some food shopping! I will tell you all how it came out! Chow Ciao!

The Dinner and a Jam New Blog Spot

Hey there peeps in cyber land! Welcome to the new home of the Dinner and Jam Blog.

Here you will find the recipe's to Leah's favorite dishes she serves as the lovely dinner and jam parties she throws on a monthly basis. These invites may be coveted, but I tell and share with you, the recipes are not so coveted. Some of my own, others tweaked by me.

So before I can get this next month's recipes up, I have barely just started to get the menu down for this weekend's Dinner and Jam Event, I will at least share with you last month's menu.

Select Cheeses & Crackers – Brie, Nut Roll, Colby Jack

Crude Crudite with fresh onion sour cream dip

Hungry Musicians Hummas – fresh garlic, cumin, chick peas, tahini

Kranky Crabmeat Dip – served warm and made with crab meat, fresh scallions, garlic, colby jack cheese, crème cheese with fresh cracked pepper

Mushroom & Goat Cheese Phyllo Triangles – baby bellas, fresh goat cheese, garlic of course, homemade bread crumbs and onions

Symphonic Sausage & Caramelized Onion Circles – the name says it all

Seranating Spiced Salsa – fresh cilantro, farmer’s market limes, onions, garlic, too-kewl cucumbers, sweet rainbow assortment of peppers and jalepenos. Available Mohitos to cool you off are available.

Have and Eat your Cake 2 – Marbleized cake with fresh lemon filling and 7 minute icing which will only take you 3 minutes to finish your slice.

Mojitos with fresh mint –Rum with fresh limes, farmer’s market mint, rum, cane sugar served over ice.

Sangria – wine and club soda with farmer’s market fruit served over ice
